Got this from SARAH's blog. I guess it best summarise Team NYDB (06-07)'s memories of SDBA. (:

18 June 2007, Team NYDB 06-07's last training at Kallang SDBA.

There's so many things about that place I've come to love and will come to miss. I don't want to leave just yet. One & a half years rowing in that stinky place is just too short.

No more, Algae-infested SDBA boats. (Including the lovely Barnacle Farm.)

Dirty Kallang water with dead fishes, dead crabs, twigs, rubbish, leaves & most recently a dead rat.

Crossing 39809480830248 boats just to get to our boat.

Falls at the pontoon from being clumsy. (I still remember that fall that left me a horrible leg mark for months.)

Unglam falls while crossing the boats.

Dousing ourselves with the Kallang water to make us feel cooler.

But instead leaving our lips saltier.

Rusty pull-up bars that made our hands peel.

Trying to do pull-ups on the metal bars of the shack instead.

Rowing all the way to the Merlion & beyond. Rowing under the Oasis restaurant & looking at barnacles.

Catching random river animals like mini black squids and crabs.
Race sets from 0 metre mark to the middle of the curve.

Race sets from behind Oasis to the shore.

Race sets from the metal pole thingys to SDBA.

Rests under the Merdeka & Sheares bridges.

Short distance, but madly fast, runs to Oasis Bridge.

2.4 KM runs to First Bridge. 5 KM runs to Second Bridge.

8 KM runs to Esplanade. 9-10 KM-ish runs to East Coast.

Having to wake up at the most unearthly times to walk that dark stretch of road from Kallang MRT to SDBA, or the route from 70 bus stop to SBDA. Bathing at the Stadium, Tennis Court & the NEW SDBA toilets. After training meals at KFC, Macs, Suntec, Marina & PS.

Okay, there's just too many memories associated with SDBA. I might be able to do all these things in the future too, you might think. To go down to these places and do all these things. But no more doing all these as Team NYDB 06-07. When we took that last step out of SBDA as one whole big group together, we said goodbye to all that. Goodbye SDBA. Bye Kallang.
